Explanation Checklist

Use this to ensure you are being successful with your explanation writing on natural disasters.

I have used present tense verbs eg. Have, are, make, etc
My introduction begins with an overview statement eg: Hurricanes are ….
I have organised my information into paragraphs
I have  supporting details for each main idea
I have used the passive voice
I have included language that is specific to my topic
I have used sequential connectives to show when things happen eg firstly, then, after a while, during, subsequently
I have used connectives to show cause and effect eg because, as a result of, as, since
I have used full stops and capital letters
I have included an image and or diagram to support my explanation
Reflection (What I did well, what I need to work on)
